The politician had turned up in a long, fitted yellow dress decorated with black dotted patterns. The outfit featured a high slit running along one side, giving it a distinctive and elegant appearance as she moved around the podium while addressing the crowd.
However, the strong wind repeatedly caught the fabric around the slit, causing it to billow and momentarily reveal more of her legs than intended.
At one point, the movement of the dress slightly exposed her thighs, forcing Omanga to reach down and hold the fabric in place as she continued with her speech.
Despite the unexpected interruption, Omanga appeared composed and continued addressing the gathering.
The incident nevertheless quickly became a major talking point online, with social media users focusing on the wardrobe mishap rather than the political message she was delivering.
Instead of ignoring the growing attention, Omanga chose to respond with humour.
“Ata upepo jameni…msinihande wadosi wangu,” she posted on Facebook while reacting to the incident.
Her light-hearted response appeared to acknowledge the unusual circumstances without allowing the incident to overshadow her public image. The comment also generated further reactions from social media users, many of whom continued discussing the viral footage.
The incident happened as Omanga was speaking about opposition politics and the 2027 General Election. She expressed support for former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, portraying him as the political leader her camp had settled on to spearhead its efforts against President William Ruto.
